The ‘Lava Coral’ works are an ongoing series of flat ceramic sculpture. The forms are created using a slurry of clay and pulped paper which is then piped into repetitive forms using a slip trailer. The clay is built up in layers until the desired thickness is achieved. The Lava Coral series will be produced in ongoing batches.
Due to the nature of the materials, making process and kiln firings the works will have some minor faults on the surface. These are considered as intended.
